Following the death of US rapper and actor, Earl Simmons popularly known as DMX, Nigerian rappers have taken to social media to eulogise him.

On the 9th of April 2021, his death was announced by family after reportedly suffering an overdose that resulted in a heart attack on April 2.

DMX’s team shared a statement which read in part: “We are deeply saddened to announce today that our loved one, DMX, birth name of Earl Simmons, passed away at 50-years-old at White Plains Hospital with his family by his side after being placed on life support for the past few days. Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end
